LGB and Transgender: Training and Consultation

IRWIN KRIEGER, LCSW

I am a clinical social worker who provided counseling and psychotherapy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender clients, as well as those questioning their sexual or gender identity, for over 30 years. I am proud to be a 2013 Honoree of the New Haven Pride Center's Dorothy Awards. I also received the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

For 12 years I specialized in working with transgender teens and young adults and their parents. I currently provide training and supervision for other professionals working with this population. I closed my therapy practice in July of 2016. Former clients should feel free to contact me for referrals for additional services or copies of records.

In March of 2017 I was interviewed on BCTV the day before presenting a training to over 100 mental health clinicians at Brattleboro Retreat in Vermont. Watch the interview here.
